committee meeting 28/09/26

Minutes WHW committee meeting Monday 28th September at 7pm

Coaching for club leaders overall went well  

  1. Winter league 

Lance has agreed to  organise again 

10 rounds potentially with provisional dates and organisers

Glen loy tbc MC  enduro (SB recommended time limit on stage starts/ finish) 

FLS are looking for contractors to clear the cour loop, this work is not yet scheduled and may not be ready for race date 

The old Argo loop needs to be cleared, GM working on it and hopes to have it cleared in time for a race 

Max and Michael both offered to help  this year 

DP will sort risk assessments for NR races 

  1. Time Trials 

Thanks to Emma for organising, good turnouts and went well, plenty of people volunteered to help run them 

DP to check if Emma happy to organise again next year 

? traffic too busy for Lochiel 10 to continue 

  1. Wednesday/ Tuesday nights 

HC now working on Wednesdays so not able to continue organising unless day change, suggested switching to Tuesdays 

Time trials historically on a Tuesday 

? have an advanced ride on a Tuesday and easier ride on Wednesday 

Agree leave it for now and discuss / gain consensus at AGM 

  1. Fort to Fort 

25th October fort augustus to fort William DL in planning stage  

Starting 10am with groups of 10. Will need timekeeper and marshalls 

JP will be available to timekeep 

Charity Ebs memorial fund  

  1. Bike Park update 

8000 grant gained to sort intermediate pumptrack, might need to ask/ fundraise for additional 2 grand as costs 10 grand 

Possibility of money from awards for all 

Good summer of activities 

Would like to tag agm onto wheelers one.. agreed 

  1. Kids Club 

Thriving awaiting 3 new leaders to complete assessments then new groups can be formed 

Coaching sessions for older kids great and a lot of kids taking part in races 

  1. AGM and awards 

Thursday 12th Nov tbc  Ask MA re availability yacht club 7pm 

Kids most improved male and female CAK to ask leaders to nominate

Committee DP happy to remain chair if no other offers, JP happy to remain membership secretary , GB happy to remain treasurer, MC happy to remain on committee

MC stolen bridge being closed in October to re build it 

Planning application for cow hill trails still in process for trail from top  

LTA done quite a lot of work to get stages sorted for SES and planned work for after to sort out trails. SES given funding for tools etc £5 a rider from upcoming event 

Started a group in South Lochaber recognised as part of LTA to run dig days trails in South Lochaber area 

JP  email from Fort William Festive Fund regarding lights switch on .. last year club members supported this with kids turning up on bikes with lights.. do we want to help this year Action JP to forward email to kids club
