54 young riders from Kid’s club accompanied by 20 adult leaders and helpers were super excited to be the first riders up on the new Blue Doon run on Saturday. 14 adults were also similarly excited ( if slightly more apprehensive!) for the Adult social ride in the afternoon. Anyway, a great time was had by all and everyone was impressed with the amazing views and all the work that has clearl gone in to creating such a great trail. Many thanks to Nevis Range for all that they did for the club on Saturday
7 riders took part in the 7th and last Time Trial of this Summer’s series. Congratulations to Cammie Mackintosh who was the fastest by over two minutes. Things were very close for 2nd and 3rd, with Jamie Gall just pipping Sam Daynes by 2 seconds.
Well done to all 11 riders who posted some fast times on Tuesday. 3 riders had personal bests including Jamie Gall who beat his by around 4 minutes, and Gary Macdonald who quite possibly set a course record ( someone will need to trawl the archives to see if that is indeed the case!). Many thanks to Emma and Andy for doing the timing and to Dave for risking life and limb at the turn. The next ( and final) race in this Summer’s series is at Loch Leven on Tuesday the 17th of August.
Tuesday night saw the return of the Glenfinnan 25. Having not been run for a wee while there was some uncertainty at the start as to how long it would take and whether it could be done inside an hour! In the end Gary Macdonald finished over 2 minutes inside the hour mark – a great effort! Well done to the 11 riders who took part and posted some fast times. Next up is the Commando Memorial Time Trial on August the 3rd.

11 Riders took part in the 4th time trial of the season. Fearsome midgies and a fairly strong wind were definitely the order of the night. Well done to Cammie for a great win. Well done also to Pete Berrie for a great comeback after 6 years away and a wee wobble at the beginning! Next race is the Glenfinnan 25 on July the 13th.
Norman appeared at kid’s club on Saturday sporting a brand new hairstyle. Long gone were his flowing lockdown curls, having been replaced by an impressive multicoloured mohican. He even engineered a helmet that would allow it to poke through! Congratulations to Norman for raising £700 at the last count. Half of this money is going towards Pancreatic Cancer charity and half is going towards the Pump track. Rock on Norman!
The Time Trial that nearly never was! Many thanks to Pete Berrie for single-handedly ensuring that the race went ahead. Next race is the Loch Eil 10 on Tuesday the 22nd of June.
12 riders took part in the second of this years summer time trials series at Loch Eil. Despite a reasonably strong head wind for the return leg, the weather was generally very favourable after the rain of the last few days. Having held Jamie Gall off, and winning by 17 seconds Alastair Maclennan was heard to say something along the lines of ” you never totally lose your racing mojo, you sometimes just temporararily misplace it!” ( apologies for any misquote). Well done to all those who took part and great to see some new faces. Many thanks to all the organisers. Next race is at Laggan Dam on June the 8th.

A great turnout for the first Time trial of 2021. The ever popular Commando Memorial route saw some great racing. Standout result has got to be Cory Muir showing his father how to do it! Many thanks to Emma, Dave and Alastair for getting the series up and running again. Next race is the Loch Eil 10 on May the 25th.
