It was a lovely sunny morning for the first kid’s club session of the year. Great to see over 50 kid’s out and about on the trails at Nevis Range having a blast. Great also to see a good number of the newly designed club tops proudly being worn.

Kid’s Club had a great morning at the Fort William Bike Park today to mark the last session of 2023!

Many Thanks to everyone that has helped out with the club this year. Roll on Spring time!

Well done to Joseph Tait and Daniel Parfitt passing their fundamentals of mountain bike leadership course last weekend and thanks to Mark Clark and MikePescod Abacus Mountain Guides for putting the course on. The club is really fortunate to have had a number of older teenagers progress through kids club and start helping out with the groups and they have all been brilliant over the last term.

It’s been great seeing some of them start progressing through the leadership scheme and we are looking forward to supporting more of them through this next year.

Trying to get them all together for a photo proved impossible but thank you Cameron Bungey, Cory Muir, Cole Jackson, Daniel Parfitt, Finn Forsyth, Joseph Tait, Kai Frost, Nina Cameron, Riley Forsyth and Ruby Clark

new level 1 leaders

Huge congratulations to Nina Cameron and Cory Muir who have just qualified as British Cycling Level 1 MTB Leaders. To achieve this they had to complete 2 days training with Mike Pescod, and they are now helping out with leading the younger riders in the club. Having come right through the club from an early age it is really great to seem them now inspiring these younger riders! Some of the other older teenagers ( Evan Macdonald, FrasDaniel Parfitt, Rory Gilfillan, Kai Frost,Cole Jackson, Joseph Tait, and Kieran MacDougal) have also been helping out with the younger groups and have been getting some great feedback from riders and coaches alike – well done! Many thanks to Lochaber Sports Association for providing us with a grant to help with the Level 1 course, and thanks also to Mark Clark for providing training for some of those not on the course. We are aiming to run another Level 1 course next Spring.

Return of kid’s club 24/04/21

Saturday morning saw the return of Kid’s club after a break for winter ( and lockdown!). 59 kid’s enjoyed some glorious weather and almost dusty trails! Many thanks to all the committee and the leaders and helpers who enabled it to happen!

Kid’s Club Christmas Session

Saturday the 12th of December saw the final session of this Winter’s block of Kids club sessions. 52 youngsters took part in these sessions and seemed to have a real blast. As this was the last session before Xmas there was a fair amount of tinsel decorating bikes but unfortunately Santa wasn’t able to make his traditional appearance due to a need to quarantine before Xmas day. Help was however at hand in the unusual shape of a gorilla in the forest who provided presents for at least a couple of groups. A big thanks must go to all the volunteer helpers who enabled these sessions to go ahead. Roll on Spring!
