Well done to all the racers ( both young and not so young) who took part in the second round of this years Winter League. Despite all the efforts of Storm Arwen Mark Clark laid on a couple of great courses. Special mention must go to Gary Macdonald, who despite trying to ” fatten” up and also having no motor, managed to complete one more lap than the rest of the field. Many thanks to Mark for all his efforts, and everyone else that helped with the marshalling, timekeeping and baking! The next race is the Claire Mackintosh Memorial race on the 28th of December, run by Vince and Cammie at Nevis Range.
13 Adults and 10 juniors took part in the First races of the 2021/2022 Winter League series. The adults raced around the Cour Loop, whilst the juniors raced as many laps as possible around a small loop at the Nevis Range base station. Cammie Mackintosh triumphed in the adult race and once again managed to even out pace the e-bike riders! There was some great racing in the junior races with some exciting family rivalry developing! Many thanks to everyone who helped with timing, marshalling, course setting, tree clearing and of course the baking. The next race is at Glen Loy ( Strone side) on the 5th of December. Watch out for posts giving details about the race on facebook.

Last Sunday saw the final race of the much disrupted 2020/2021 Winter League. Despite the sparse turnout, those that turned up thoroughly enjoyed the racing and the chance to socialise at the end in the summer sun! Well done to Cammie for winning in style. and holding off Doug’s concerted e-bike challenge! Many thanks to Mark for organising the race and to Katie and Marian for providing delicious cake and flapjack. Thanks also to Vince for lurking in the bushes and taking some great photos!

The Winter/Spring/Summer League returned today after an extended Winter Break. 21 ( sorry make that 22, forgot there was a tandem!) riders took part in the Cour Loop Time Trial . Great to see to see some new faces. Many thanks to Marian for organising it and to everyone that helped with marshalling, timekeeping etc. The fourth and final race of the series is provisionally planned to be held at Glen Loy on the 6th of June. Judging by the photo it looks like little Bo wants to add a new Winter League category – balance bike!
