Time Trials
12 riders took part in the second of this years summer time trials series at Loch Eil. Despite a reasonably strong head wind for the return leg, the weather was generally very favourable after the rain of the last few days. Having held Jamie Gall off, and winning by 17 seconds Alastair Maclennan was heard to say something along the lines of ” you never totally lose your racing mojo, you sometimes just temporararily misplace it!” ( apologies for any misquote). Well done to all those who took part and great to see some new faces. Many thanks to all the organisers. Next race is at Laggan Dam on June the 8th.

Social Rides
Yesterday saw the busiest day yet of our newly introduced Saturday afternoon social rides. 5 club coaches went out with 3 groups of varying abilities. Everyone seemed to have a great time and one group even managed to get their pictures taken with Blake Samson and Neil Donoghue, the well known presenters from Global Mountain Bike Network. These sessions are running from 1.30 to 3.30 and we are keen to welcome any new beginner and intermediate riders along. Please check the ” Events” page for further details.
Winter League
The Winter/Spring/Summer League returned today after an extended Winter Break. 21 ( sorry make that 22, forgot there was a tandem!) riders took part in the Cour Loop Time Trial . Great to see to see some new faces. Many thanks to Marian for organising it and to everyone that helped with marshalling, timekeeping etc. The fourth and final race of the series is provisionally planned to be held at Glen Loy on the 6th of June. Judging by the photo it looks like little Bo wants to add a new Winter League category – balance bike!

Time Trials
A great turnout for the first Time trial of 2021. The ever popular Commando Memorial route saw some great racing. Standout result has got to be Cory Muir showing his father how to do it! Many thanks to Emma, Dave and Alastair for getting the series up and running again. Next race is the Loch Eil 10 on May the 25th.

Kid's Club
Saturday the 12th of December saw the final session of this Winter’s block of Kids club sessions. 52 youngsters took part in these sessions and seemed to have a real blast. As this was the last session before Xmas there was a fair amount of tinsel decorating bikes but unfortunately Santa wasn’t able to make his traditional appearance due to a need to quarantine before Xmas day. Help was however at hand in the unusual shape of a gorilla in the forest who provided presents for at least a couple of groups. A big thanks must go to all the volunteer helpers who enabled these sessions to go ahead. Roll on Spring!
