Four ladies took part in the first of, hopefully, a number of maintenance sessions for club members at the Bike Kitchen. Feedback from those taking part was really positive and Richard at the Bike kitchen was super impressed with everyone’s keenness. Many thanks to Richard from the Bike Kitchen and Emma from Lochaber Environmental Group for helping to set up this session. The Bike Kitchen will be organising a number of specific maintenance courses throughout the year and would encourage anyone keen to keep an eye out on the Lochaber Environmental Group Facebook page for more details.
Time Trials
54 young riders from Kid’s club accompanied by 20 adult leaders and helpers were super excited to be the first riders up on the new Blue Doon run on Saturday. 14 adults were also similarly excited ( if slightly more apprehensive!) for the Adult social ride in the afternoon. Anyway, a great time was had by all and everyone was impressed with the amazing views and all the work that has clearl gone in to creating such a great trail. Many thanks to Nevis Range for all that they did for the club on Saturday
Time Trials
7 riders took part in the 7th and last Time Trial of this Summer’s series. Congratulations to Cammie Mackintosh who was the fastest by over two minutes. Things were very close for 2nd and 3rd, with Jamie Gall just pipping Sam Daynes by 2 seconds.
Time Trials
Well done to all 11 riders who posted some fast times on Tuesday. 3 riders had personal bests including Jamie Gall who beat his by around 4 minutes, and Gary Macdonald who quite possibly set a course record ( someone will need to trawl the archives to see if that is indeed the case!). Many thanks to Emma and Andy for doing the timing and to Dave for risking life and limb at the turn. The next ( and final) race in this Summer’s series is at Loch Leven on Tuesday the 17th of August.
Time Trials
Tuesday night saw the return of the Glenfinnan 25. Having not been run for a wee while there was some uncertainty at the start as to how long it would take and whether it could be done inside an hour! In the end Gary Macdonald finished over 2 minutes inside the hour mark – a great effort! Well done to the 11 riders who took part and posted some fast times. Next up is the Commando Memorial Time Trial on August the 3rd.

Time Trials
11 Riders took part in the 4th time trial of the season. Fearsome midgies and a fairly strong wind were definitely the order of the night. Well done to Cammie for a great win. Well done also to Pete Berrie for a great comeback after 6 years away and a wee wobble at the beginning! Next race is the Glenfinnan 25 on July the 13th.
Time Trials
Norman appeared at kid’s club on Saturday sporting a brand new hairstyle. Long gone were his flowing lockdown curls, having been replaced by an impressive multicoloured mohican. He even engineered a helmet that would allow it to poke through! Congratulations to Norman for raising £700 at the last count. Half of this money is going towards Pancreatic Cancer charity and half is going towards the Pump track. Rock on Norman!
Time Trials
The Time Trial that nearly never was! Many thanks to Pete Berrie for single-handedly ensuring that the race went ahead. Next race is the Loch Eil 10 on Tuesday the 22nd of June.
Winter League
The final race last Sunday at Glen Loy didn’t change the overall standings too much , although Gill did manage to move up into 2nd place., Many thanks to everyone who helped to get the Winter League running this year . Special thanks must go to Marian and Mark who both run two races each. Hopefully, things will be a bit more back to normal next year! Best 3 out of the 4 races counted.

Winter League
Last Sunday saw the final race of the much disrupted 2020/2021 Winter League. Despite the sparse turnout, those that turned up thoroughly enjoyed the racing and the chance to socialise at the end in the summer sun! Well done to Cammie for winning in style. and holding off Doug’s concerted e-bike challenge! Many thanks to Mark for organising the race and to Katie and Marian for providing delicious cake and flapjack. Thanks also to Vince for lurking in the bushes and taking some great photos!
