Thank you to all the kids and parents for their commitment this year! Merry Christmas and see you all soon!
A great way for kid’s club to finish up before the Summer holidays! Many thanks to Nevis Range for giving us the opportunity to do a mass descent of the Blue Doon. Thank you to all the leaders and assistant leaders who helped with getting the groups up and down. Thanks also to the chefs who did such a great job with the BBQ at the end and to everyone who donated such delicious tray bakes. Last of all, a huge thank you to Kenny and Letterfinlay Foods for donating the super tasty burgers!
P.S almost forgot to give a big thanks to all the young riders who make the club such a fun place to be ( most of the time)
Sat the 3rd saw the last kid’s club session of this year. Hot chocolates with all the trimmings were much appreciated by all at the end. Junior trophies were also handed out;
Many Thanks to everyone that has helped out with the club this year. Roll on Spring time!
Well done to Joseph Tait and Daniel Parfitt passing their fundamentals of mountain bike leadership course last weekend and thanks to Mark Clark and MikePescod Abacus Mountain Guides for putting the course on. The club is really fortunate to have had a number of older teenagers progress through kids club and start helping out with the groups and they have all been brilliant over the last term.
It’s been great seeing some of them start progressing through the leadership scheme and we are looking forward to supporting more of them through this next year.
Trying to get them all together for a photo proved impossible but thank you Cameron Bungey, Cory Muir, Cole Jackson, Daniel Parfitt, Finn Forsyth, Joseph Tait, Kai Frost, Nina Cameron, Riley Forsyth and Ruby Clark
Well done to the 24 riders who took part in the main race and the 10 who took part in the junior race. A special mention has to go Isla and Lily Cant for completing the Cour Loop on a tandem ( despite reports of some initial fall outs!) Many thanks to Marian for organising the race and to Jacqui, Claire, Dave, Lorraine, Will and Es who helped with marshalling, timekeeping and providing much needed warm refreshments. The next race is on the 4th of December at a new venue – Achaderry Estate in RoyBridge and is being run by Lance and Leon. More details will be posted nearer the date on facebook.

Huge congratulations to Nina Cameron and Cory Muir who have just qualified as British Cycling Level 1 MTB Leaders. To achieve this they had to complete 2 days training with Mike Pescod, and they are now helping out with leading the younger riders in the club. Having come right through the club from an early age it is really great to seem them now inspiring these younger riders! Some of the other older teenagers ( Evan Macdonald, FrasDaniel Parfitt, Rory Gilfillan, Kai Frost,Cole Jackson, Joseph Tait, and Kieran MacDougal) have also been helping out with the younger groups and have been getting some great feedback from riders and coaches alike – well done! Many thanks to Lochaber Sports Association for providing us with a grant to help with the Level 1 course, and thanks also to Mark Clark for providing training for some of those not on the course. We are aiming to run another Level 1 course next Spring.
54 young riders from Kid’s club accompanied by 20 adult leaders and helpers were super excited to be the first riders up on the new Blue Doon run on Saturday. 14 adults were also similarly excited ( if slightly more apprehensive!) for the Adult social ride in the afternoon. Anyway, a great time was had by all and everyone was impressed with the amazing views and all the work that has clearl gone in to creating such a great trail. Many thanks to Nevis Range for all that they did for the club on Saturday
Norman appeared at kid’s club on Saturday sporting a brand new hairstyle. Long gone were his flowing lockdown curls, having been replaced by an impressive multicoloured mohican. He even engineered a helmet that would allow it to poke through! Congratulations to Norman for raising £700 at the last count. Half of this money is going towards Pancreatic Cancer charity and half is going towards the Pump track. Rock on Norman!
